What is this card worth? Just show it.

Hold a card in front of your iPhone. CardNugget recognises it on the device, shows its estimated market price with its source and date, then waits for the next one. No tapping, no photo sent.

How it works

From camera to price in about a second

Every step that touches the image runs on your iPhone. Only once the card is identified does a request leave the phone, and it carries a catalog identifier — not a picture.

Receives a catalog identifier and returns a dated, sourced price.

If the catalog hesitates between candidates, the app falls back to text read on the card — number, set, language. Never pixels.

Rapid mode

A hundred cards in about two minutes

Working through a binder? Rapid mode keeps the camera running: each card is identified, priced and filed in your collection in about 1.2 seconds, while you already reach for the next one.

  • No confirmation screen: cards are filed as you go, and the last one can be undone.
  • When the app hesitates, it says “not recognised” and moves on — nothing is filed, nothing is guessed.
  • A slow price never blocks the binder: after 1.5 s the next card goes ahead and the price arrives later.

Honest prices

A price always comes with its source and date

CardNugget shows market estimates, never invented numbers. When no reliable source has a price for a card, it says so instead of filling the gap.

Cardmarket does not sell Chinese, Thai, Indonesian or Korean printings separately. For these cards the price shown is the Japanese twin's — checked card by card — and it is labelled as such.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your phone. Not one pixel.

Recognition happens on the iPhone, against a catalog that ships inside the app. The only thing sent to get a price is the identifier of the card — never what the camera sees.

FAQ

Common questions

How does CardNugget recognise a card?

The iPhone camera finds the card's outline, straightens it and reads its text with Apple's Vision framework. The app then matches the printed number, set and language against a catalog of 137,835 cards built into the app. All of this happens on the phone.

Is a photo of my card sent anywhere?

No. No image, thumbnail or anything derived from an image ever leaves your iPhone. To get a price, the app sends the card's catalog identifier, or failing that the text read on the card.

Where do the prices come from?

From third-party market data, mainly Cardmarket trend prices and TCGplayer market prices. Every price is shown with its source and its update date. These are dated estimates, not real-time prices.

What if no price is found?

The app says “price unavailable”. CardNugget never shows a made-up price, a default value or an old price presented as fresh.

Which card languages are supported?

The catalog covers 13 printing languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Thai, Indonesian, Korean and Simplified Chinese. Coverage is excellent for Western languages and Japanese, partial for some Asian sets, and still very limited for Korean and Simplified Chinese.
