If the catalog hesitates between candidates, the app falls back to text read on the card — number, set, language. Never pixels.
Typical durations in rapid mode, from the app's settings and measurements in development.
In detail
The rule is simple: no image, no pixel buffer, no thumbnail and nothing derived from an image ever goes up to the server. History thumbnails are off by default and, if you turn them on, they stay on the phone.
The app contains no third-party code at all — no SDK, no analytics, no ads — only Apple's frameworks. Even card visuals go through our server rather than a public CDN: otherwise the CDN would see your IP address and the list of cards you look at.
- No image sent or stored on a server
- No account, no advertising identifier
- Zero third-party dependencies in the app
- Card visuals relayed to protect your IP address
